This lovely inn sits nestled in the sloping shores of Lake Superior, overlooking the lake's grand view. The upper floor's view is positively spectacular. The grounds are immaculately kept with thick beautiful flower gardens in the warmer months and plenty of snow in the colder months. The lawns surrounding the inn are laid out in such a way that families can have their own BQ still leaving plenty of space for the couple looking for a quiet picnic. The Winfield Inn is owned and operated by a lovely family that truly sees their guests as guests. They seem more like hosts rather than management. This is rare treat when on a vacation. An interesting souvenir and gift shop located in the office displays lots of wonderful Bayfield collectibles and gifts. Definitely take a few minutes exploring the articles tucked into the shelves. My companion and I both loved the decor of the rooms. Pure comfort; with soft colors and plenty of pillows. Even the shelf above the bed offers books for us readers. The bathtub is one for relaxing, unique, designed a bit wider than most. I couldn't help but notice how clean the rooms are and how clean they are kept. It seemed as if every time I left the room the maid came in to tidy up and leave new coffee packets and towels; another rare find these days. If you plan to travel with pets, the Winfield Inn should be first on your list. Your pets are welcome, which make this a great family place to vacation. Just three miles away from Isle Vista Casino and a mile from downtown Bayfield, you will be centrally located for all the fun activities around the area. All and all this is a great inn with everything I look for in a place to stay; both my companion and I rate the Winfield Inn very high and feel comfortable in recommending it to our thousands of readers. I recommend making reservations well in advance for the summer months, especially for Fri. and Sat., but should you find yourself in town without a place to stay, stop in, the Winfield Inn management will do their best to accommodate you, even if it means directing you to another nice inn near by. |
